Office services provider, Managed by Q, recently made its first acquisition of startup Hivy–a task management tool for office operations teams and helpdesk for employees.
In their four years of business, Managed by Q has grown from a small startup to a full-scale provider of professional office services. The company offers a wide range of services like office cleaning, plumbing, moving, maintenance or even IT and security. Currently, they’ve raised over $72 million and service offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Hivy, started a year-and-a-half ago by two Y-Combinator graduates, is a startup focused on aiding the internal communication of an office. Hivy’s platform “enables office managers to collect employee requests, manage projects, assign tasks, and notify employees when their requests have been completed.”
Managed by Q CEO Dan Teran told TechCrunch that Hivy will be a great fit. “We have a lot of customers in common, and realized just how complementary the services were,” said Teran. “This acquisition will make it easier to run and office and make an office more productive, which is what we’re all about.”
Teran hopes to expand Managed by Q’s service with the acquisition. They strive to deliver a great experience for the entire office and their employees, not just for the office operations team.
Eventually, the two will fully integrate their services and Hivy customers will be able to book services through the Q marketplace. For now, the two will run separate business, but Q is taking on Hivy’s core team of founders, according to Teran.
